Envision Arts Programming
Envision began basic programming through small grant awards from the Illinois Arts Council (IAC), a state agency. Starting in 2004, the agency's arts programming has been centered at Envision's Westtown Center with the creation of the "New School Arts Studio."
Envision offers a solid fine arts program for persons with developmental disabilities. The hub of the program is a "The New School Studio" – a functional, open studio--solely dedicated to arts programming. Initial arts programming at the studio began with a basic introduction to drawing and painting. Over time, our artists have become adept at mosaic work, screen printing, hand embroidery, quilt-making, paper-mâché, and simple book binding.
Additionally, artists have designed agency holiday and greeting cards.
